Pipeline Installation and Repair Experience

MPM has served in the design group, field safety and inspection group, project management team, as owner representative, or as prime contractor for numerous outfall and oil/gas service pipeline installation and repair projects. Operations have been performed in Alaska, California, and Central America.

  • Installations – Areas of pipeline installation expertise include pipeline beach pulls, submerged tows, reel barge, J-lay, and conventional lay barge operations. along with outfall installation from trestles and construction barges utilizing pipe horse techniques. Installations have included pipeline sizes from 4-1/2” to 36” diameter. Projects have been conducted both near shore and to depths of more than (-)1,300 FSW.
  • Repairs – MPM has designed and/or executed pipeline repairs both onshore and in water depths from the active surf zone to more than (-)700 FSW, on pipeline sizes from 6-5/8” to 24” diameter.  Tasks have included replacement of damaged sections up to 700’ in length, sectional surface tows to 600-ft in length, in excess of: 25 riser replacements; 50 tie-in spool installations; 100 repair clamp installations and unplugging in excess of 12-miles of plugged pipe.

Outfall and Seawater Intake/Discharge Pipe Experience

Our teams’ experience with concrete, cast iron, and steel pipe ranges from construction diver to prime contractor.  Projects include the Dana Point Outfall,  SONGS 18-ft intake/discharge cooling water lines, the Oxnard Sanitary District, San Elijo (SEJPA), and Trading Bay Outfalls, along with HDPE liner installations and numerous internal and external inspections.
